Hi all,

I am using Kodi 18.6 with NextPVR Client 3.3.19.

I had set the NextPVR Client Live TV Stream option to Extended Timeshift and I experienced that after some time live TV automatically jumps back about 30 seconds in time. This repeats itself, so you end up watching parts of the program twice. When I set the Live TV Stream option to Realtime no jump back occurs and everything works normally.

I have now set the Live TV Stream option to Timeshift and will be checking if the jumpback also occurs when using this option. I will post the results here.

Please advise. Are there any settings I should change?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards.

In v5 Timeshift and Extended Timeshift are the same. These settings are cleaned up in Matrix. Real time will always be the most stable.

If you want help with Kodi post in the Kodi sub forum here (not v5 or Windows) and send all the logs described https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help

Indeed because I have timeshift with V5 and Kodi 18.6 and it jumbs pack as well in my setup. I am not sure what's causing it, and this is way beyond the small jumb back that also happens after pausing because of playing the bffered stream first and then moving on...There is something very wrong, eiher in the Kodi interface or in the timeshifting code...
I don't know however to reprodue it every time...it happens from time to time so I have no clue of what is triggering it...

@aderlopas the jump after pause should be fixed with this patch that I have asked for your help in testing https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid540597

I will of course need logs to diagnose any other issue, so try and catch things when they happen. I expect these would be glitches in playback that Kodi is trying to skip over, v5 does not offer smooth skipping in a buffer.

No rush, sub released it yesterday so it should make its way to you through channels.

OK, just tested it, I did not see the problem happening and the timeshift is much smoother.

The problem occurred again and I have uploaded these logs. I will also try the patch.

You don't need the patch it is in 3.2.20

What is see is it is in the source

..
2020-05-28 21:16:24.329 T:8708 NOTICE: CActiveAEStream::AddData - messy timestamps, increasing interval for measuring average error to 6000 ms

etc.

You didn't include you NextPVR logs but I'd say it is the source and since it is ffmpeg I don't think it's a tuner.
