In the logs and dump file, it looks like driver crashed while trying to stop the device. It doesn't look like it was fatal though. It looks like it would have recovered from it.

Was it anything more than the tray icon not working? A few people in the last week have reported the tray icon stops working on occasion, but it's been just cosmetic for them. (ie, the tray app doesn't do anything itself other than show a coloured icon)

Looking at the times of the crashes, it may have been when wife was using remote - I would have been informed if there was any noticeable problem  Rolleyes

The tray icon when grey takes a long time to open the right click menu - also the status window has suddenly opened of it's own accord as an unfocused window on the desktop once or twice.
The only thing I use it for now is to stop doing PC surgery while her recordings are in progress.  Big Grin

Yeah, I'm aware of some reported problems with the tray icon. I'm just trying to determine if your problems are anything more than the tray icon.

There is a fix for some remote crashes here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid540961 if that helps.

I have been monitoring this over a few days - it would appear that the tray icon fails to communicate on returning from sleep. Sometimes a scheduled recording will kick it back to life - but not always.

http://localhost:8866/services/service?m...ormat=json (from jcole's thread) causes Web page not available if the icon is grey - list of tuners etc. if it is green.

Looking at the logs I think the tray app is misleading it is the tuner sockets that are failing Four tuners are shutdown after the EPG update

Code:
2020-05-24 21:14:00.177    [DEBUG][1]     -listen:50276
...
2020-05-25 00:43:30.497    [DEBUG][12]    Removing filter  Network Provider
2020-05-25 02:44:01.492    [INFO][6]    Got GET request: /shutdown

2020-05-24 08:17:29.965    [DEBUG][1]     -listen:56571
2020-05-25 00:43:30.497    [DEBUG][12]    Removing filter  Network Provider
2020-05-25 02:44:01.492    [INFO][6]    Got GET request: /shutdown

2020-05-24 16:13:00.270    [DEBUG][1]     -listen:53584
2020-05-25 02:13:00.234    [DEBUG][19]    Removing filter  Network Provider
2020-05-25 02:43:58.134    [INFO][18]    Got GET request: /shutdown

2020-05-24 20:59:02.366    [DEBUG][1]     -listen:49444
2020-05-24 23:13:00.248    [DEBUG][21]    Removing filter  Network Provider
2020-05-25 02:44:00.545    [INFO][21]    Got GET request: /shutdown

But NextPVR continues to do failing status requests on one of these dead sockets

2020-05-25 02:44:29.650 [DEBUG][107] http://localhost:53584/status
....
2020-05-25 03:08:18.703 [DEBUG][110] http://localhost:53584/status
...
2020-05-25 06:36:30.165 [DEBUG][78] http://localhost:53584/status

I see the same thing in Recknextpvr's logs,

2020-05-26 18:27:00.397 [DEBUG][1] -listen:51145
2020-05-27 02:44:00.816 [INFO][5] Got GET request: /shutdown
...
2020-05-27 02:44:05.500 [DEBUG][210] http://localhost:51145/status
...
2020-05-27 18:26:58.314 [DEBUG][132] http://localhost:51145/status

Correct. That's exactly what the updated NShared.dll in the other tray post is intended to fix.

Ok Ricknextpvr reported this with the new NShared so I guess the fix was not complete.

For the last 24 hours, I have been using the latest nshared.dll ‎dated: 02 ‎June ‎2020, ‏‎06:19:20 & NPVRTray.exe dated: ‎02 ‎June ‎2020, ‏‎04:51:22.
Also updated the Hauppauge driver to 85_1_59_37308 for Windows 10 - It appears to work fine on Windows 8.1.

Since then the tray icon has behaved as expected - been red when I checked a few times while recording - green the rest of the time, including a couple of times on resume from sleep.
