Export V4 Recording Schedule to V5?

I am planning on finally migrating to V5 from V4.  Before I get rid of my V4 installation, is there any way to preserve the quite extensive recording schedule that already exists in V4 to V5?  It must be stored somewhere, right?  I have searched everywhere in the forum and can't seem to find the answer to this.  Thank you.

Nobody has any ideas? You mean you have to start from scratch and recreate the entire recording schedule? Is there an XML file I need to copy over? I looked through all I could find and couldn't find the complete schedule. I have nearly 20 shows in my V4 schedule and some I can't even add with the V5 scheduler since they are currently off the air for the time being. Please let me know one way or the other. Thanks.

It depends on your tuners. Some things will just work if your copy your v4 npvr.db3 file into v5 and some schedules may have to be recreated.

Thank you for the response. I assumed that file was unique to V4 and that V5 had it's own unique format so I didn't try that. I will give it a shot and see what happens. Same tuner setup so keeping fingers crossed.

Good luck. It's not a question of being the same tuners, it is the way sub configures some tuners has changed.

So everyone knows, it did not work. It showed all the scheduled shows, but all the current ones showed up as "Conflicts" saying no tuner was available on the desktop app. The web site was just blank. FYI when I try to hit resolve conflict, a window pops up saying what do I want to do; giving me two choices. Unfortunately, there is no selection to choose anything and the program just hangs. So looks like only solution is to go back to the V5 file and just re-add the shows as they become scheduled. I tried...

Ultimately the recordings are stored in c:\users\public\npvr\npvr.db3, so make sure you backup a copy of that file.

Also copy the recordings-backup.xml/recurring-backup.xml from the same directory, which can be imported into v5. recordings-backup.xml contains the 'ready' recordings. recurring-backup.xml contains the recurring recordings. You should only import your recurring recording schedule after setting up your channels though

There is no backup of non-recurring scheduled recordings.

What type of tuner was it? (IPTV, Ceton, analog can't have the npvr.db3 copied, but other tuner types should be fine)

In theory that should be fine for just copying the npvr.db3. Is the same machine, or a different machine? If different, you'll need to make sure you have the hdhomerun utilities installed or it wont be able to see the device.

If it's the same machine, try using a device, then post the logs and I'll take a look.
