No subtitles in NextPVR 5 unless NextPVR 4 is also installed

I uninstalled NextPVR 4 from my system, then installed NextPVR5 .
I was surprised to see that subtitles don't show in any previously recorded videos or live TV channels.
After I reinstalled NextPVR 4, subtitles started working in the NextPVR 5 client.
Once I uninstalled NextPVR 4, subtitles stopped working in the NextPVR 5 client.

I'm running Win10 build 2004. Using nVidia GTX 1050 Ti with drivers 451.48 .
TV card is WinTV-quadHD.

Is this a known issue ? Is there a fix ?

And most useful would probably be logs from both v4 (working) and v5 (not working).

Sorry. I ran into a lot of issues with NextPVR 5, not just the subtitles.
I ended up restoring my HTPC to the state from a week ago with Acronis.
I'm back on just NextPVR 4 at the moment, which isn't perfect, but has fewer problems overall.
I'll try to reproduce each issue and provide logs for both clients.

Here is a log with just NextPVR 5 installed. I tuned to KQED-HD, the local PBS affiliate. Closed captions are not showing up, even if I type CTRL-X and select closed captions.

I just installed NextPVR 4 also. I did not even start the NextPVR 4 app, or do anything else. Only ran the installer.

I then launched the NextPVR5 client and tuned to the same KQED-HD channel. I now get closed captions.

I should note that I am using the Microsoft DTV-DVD-Decoder for MPEG-2 and H.264 video.
For audio, I'm using LAV decoders.

I use the same exact combo successfully with the NextPVR4 app.
Unfortunately, not with NextPVR5 client.

I tried LAV video decoders yesterday, and the problem was the same - no captions in NextPVR5 unless I also have NextPVR4 installed.

I claim no expertise ... but my wild guess is that V5 would work on its own if the relevant componenets were copied from V4 to V5 (and included in a future build of V5).

Makes sense. And it probably only works this way with the combination because the two installers for v4 and v5 are defaulting to the same installation directory ...
