I am trying to schedule a V5 manual recording using the API with the following command:

http://localhost:8867/services/service?m...8ab77b7bce
&name=Alien Superstar with Henry Winkler - Lin Oliver&channel=914&time_t=1595800800&duration=3600&pre_padding=0&post_padding=0

No luck. The tail-end of the attached nrecord.log near 2020-07-25 14:49:47.043 shows:

<rsp stat="fail">
  <err code="11" msg="Object reference not set to an instance of an object." />
</rsp>

Is there a problem with this API call?

I don't understand why you continue to NOT use the developer forum plus I almost didn't reply because this is related to the YouTube extra.

This call is a probably confusing because the channel is the oid and not the channel number. You should be using 8303

You're right. This should have been posted to the developer's forum. My apologies.

Thanks for the info.

Oh, and what does the YouTube extra have to do with my request?

I suggest opening the web app in your browser viewing the Scheduler page, open the browser developer tools, then use the '+' button to schedule your recording. After this, look at the Network tab of your developer tools. You should see listed the method=recording.save call, along with the parameters it used.

Sub the API is just channel= and it is not clear if it is number or oid.

@jcole998 the example with with the YouTube extra, and you are probably trying to create a manual recording of a You Tube channel because there is no guide info. Anyway I was just trying to show how support doesn't often stop with one post.

For the most part, anything taking a channel parameter in the api is referring to the channel oid. The notable exception is the the http://192.168.1.25:8866/live?channel=123 url, because I wanted an easy way for users to be able to manually create a stream url, without having to know complicated stuff like database oids etc.

I don't have the code in front of me, so can't check if it accepted a channel number.

Thank you, sub. I rarely use F12 and I'm not familiar with its capabilities. I tried your suggestion and easily found the calls.

@Martin...In my attempt to break down my project in smaller bites, I was unaware of your support philosophy. Message received. Thanks for your help.
