NextPVR tray app

Does the NextPVR tray app have to be running for full functionality on a windows PC setup to use Standby mode?   I'm trying to sort out why I miss recordings sometimes and wonder if it has to do with Windows automatic restarts to apply updates.

The tray app will block sleep during recordings but forced restarts aren't necessarily blocked. You should schedule Windows updates (which aren't that often, so I suspect your issue could be something else) in off hours.
