setup question

Hi Guys. so today I have installed NextPVR 5.0.8.200823 on my Raspberry pi 4 using the XBOX One Tv tuner. I have scanned for channels and have 141 listed but when I try to play a channel I just get the message on the bottom of the screen Starting Device please Wait.. In the Devices Tab it says DVB-T unavailable. Can anyone help.?

Are you trying to watch this in the web app? If so, the RPi4 isn't fast enough for this activity, since it requires trancoding in real time to a video format that can be played in a web browser. The RPi devices don't have enough grunt for this.

The RPi4 is fast enough to be used as a backend for a player that can play native streams though, like Kodi etc. For this type of playback, NextPVR is passing the player the original unmodified stream.

yes ive tried to play using the web app. But I originally tried playing stations on my Nvidia Shield Tv Pro, I get all the EPG data but stations don't play....

Try watching a channel in VLC, or other player (just not the web app), then post the logs, and I'll take a look.

I just tried playing a stream using vlc on my pi and it just says it cant be played

You don't have to run VLC on the pi - it can be on another machine.

Basically you need to open a network stream like:

http://ipaddress:8866/live?channel=12

(where 12 or whatever is the channel number you're trying to watch)

After this, use the 'Log Files' button in the settings screen to download the NextPVR log file zip, and post it here.

Yes, supply the whole log. That's too big to attach here, but drop it in dropbox/onedrive/googledrive, and post the download link.
