1) Fast-forwarding yields uncontrollable results.  The forwarding continues to the recording end at warp speed.  Did not have this issue a few months ago.

2) Comskip (v0.82.010) does not auto-process.  If I process manually, it works.  Log file says no edl file.  I thought I followed all the documentation.

OK, I found the thread about LAV decoders, installed them - problem solved.

I am still trying to understand why comskip isn't working.  Is there something that I have missed?

Since you using v4 and nothing changed in the software, it is something that changed outside NextPVR. The fact that there is not edl file is a pretty clear indication so just try to remember how you installed it in the first place and what you might have done recently that would have broken it.

Thanks for your reply mvallevand, but my comment about working a few months back relates to the fast-forward issue only.

I have no prior comskip history, so I am installing from scratch.  I placed the parrallelprocessing.bat, comskip.exe and comskip.ini files in the scrips dir and the comskip files in C:/comskip, as suggested in the documentation. I am now wondering if I should roll back from the current comskip version.

Any comments?

Technically I personally don't support v4 anymore but this is kind of a dual version question. Don't test comskip.exe, test your batch file at the command problem from a different folder maybe start in c:\users to make sure you are using fully qualified names properly

I tried running parallelprocessing from C:\user and it took me to C:\comskip, as expected, but with an error: "ComSkip: missing option <file>" .   <file> is the input file and/or output folder for cutlist.  I assume NPVR adds these files?

You would have to pass the same parameters to the batch file that NextPVR does as explained on the wiki https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Scripts but only the ones you use need to be valid

I think I may not be interpreting your response correctly. So, if all the necessary script parameters would be automatically passed by NPVR for parallelprocessing a recording, there would be a EDL file generated?
BTW, my recordings are in a differenet local drive than NPVR, if that could make some difference...."comskip edl file does not exist locally for (E:\My Recordings\General Hospital\General.Hospital.S58E17.ts)".

Using the parameter, in this case filename for filename is crucial, you need to do something with %1 and ensure that any embedded spaces are dealt with. It doesn't guarantee and edl file would be created comskip would still need to find commercials.

The drive won't matter if the file is recording the permissions will be the same.

I changed the parallelprocessing file to the following: cd /d "E:\My Recordings", and it worked flawlessly. The "comskip edl file does not exist locally for (E:\My Recordings..)" provide me with the clue.

I apreciate your guidance, as I now have a good understanding of the process, with minimal headache.
