when using the web ui and trying to play live tv or recordings, subtitles will not show yet they show with the desktop interface.
I am using nextpvr 5 and am from the UK.
I think the subtitles are dvdsub type.
The same applies when using the knewc addon in kodi although it does subtitles when not transcoding and doing it direct.
Any ideas or updates please?
I tried editing the config file to edit ffmpeg but this did nothing.
I also noticed that when the streams would not show subtitles on the web ui, if i copied the url into vlc the stream would let me select subtitles.

If KNEWC plays subtitles when you are not transcoding it sounds like a missing option -cConfused copy on the transcode line. Could you send your zipped NextPVR logs?

True, the web app cannot handle DVB Subtitles at this stage. It can only handle north-americas style Closed Captions at this stage. I'm hoping to add support for it in the future.

Playback in the nextpvr.exe client will allow you to select the subtitle stream.

Sure here is the config file, although im not sure if it is to do with ffmpeg option as the same url in vlc allows playing of subtitles.?

I don't want the config file if that is addressed to me. I'd like the zipped NextPVR logs if you want to use transcoding with KNEWC.

Is the zip file bigger then 2MB? If not you must be missing a step.

Ok that probably explains the upload problem, zipped really means zip file, rar is not allowed. It is simplest to just use the zip file that NextPVR creates for you from the web page.

The issue is what I expected sub isn't populating the subtitle copy field which is probably required.

Code:
-s [RESOLUTION] [SCALE] [SUBTITLES] -flags

-s 848x480   -flags

The interesting thing for me is you are using KNEWC to play transcoded recordings and if you had asked I would have said I only implmented it for live tv. AFAIK sub doesn't have an override for recordings in config.xml

I was looking for a way to play files on the go on my mobile that needs to transcode for data limitations but i would like the option to use subtitles for both live or recordings - in case needed volume low.
I cant find any method in the uk that works aside from using plex to stream - but this works for just my recordings, not live tv without paying money.
Im not sure what you are referring to above with the subtitle lines and what they mean? or whether it can be fixed to work?
