Recordings unwatchable after Windows 10 update

I hope somebody here can help me with this. I am using NPVR V5 for recording TV programmes off air. However, back in May when I updated Windows 10 from version 1909 to version 2004, the recordings I then made were unwatchable (picture all broken up, freezing etc) so I went back to version 1909, and all was fine again. When the new W10 update came recently (version 20H2) I again gave it a try, but with the same result, so again I've gone back to version 1909. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so is there a workaround?

You don't say where you are watching recordings (ie NextPVR.exe, web app, Kodi, Android, etc) which is one reason we ask for logs fo support posts.

I'm not aware of any compatibility issues with most recent windows updates. I'm personally fully up to date.

Have you tried playing a recording in another player? This would help narrow down if it's a capture or playback issue.
