Certain Channels Fail to Start for Only NextPVR. Kodi & HDHR Play Fine

Hey all, I hope this post is useful to more than just me. I know I've received buckets of help from lurking these forums. Now it's my turn I suppose.

I use Cable Cards via Cox. v5 on one machine, v4 on another. I have NextPVR, Kodi, and HDHR app. I've only really tested on the v5 machine, but have observed this occurring on v4 machine with same channels. This happened once before to channel 1007 (ABC-KETV), but somehow that got fixed and is now playing just fine in NPVR.

Right now, when trying to play live tv (or a recording from one of these channels) using NextPVR, I get only blank screen and tuner is activated. I don't get an error message, I'm able to hit stop to return to guide, and I can select a different channel and it will play just fine. Also, with a channel that doesn't work in NPVR, it does work in HDHR or Kodi using same tuners. Recordings also play just fine using Kodi. 

I've tried changing decoders, settings of decoders, looking through the logs for anything useful / obvious. I just can't tell why it's behaving this way.

I'm able to watch these channels via the Web app (browser) that otherwise turn blank screen on desktop app.

Channels that don't work; 1010 (Fox-KPTM), 1042 (CNBC), 1041 (E!), 
Channels that do work; 1008 (NBC-WOWT), 1009 (ABC-KETV), many others.

I almost want to say this happened when NPVR glitched when starting a channel and crashed. I haven't tried uninstalling / reinstalling since lots of other channels work, along with other applications.

I much prefer NPVR, but will use Kodi in the meantime. I hope you can find something to fix in the logs i've attached.

I'd install and use the the 32 bit LAV decoder for h264 and ac3 (not the 64 bit version even on a 64 bit Windows) https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases for h264 and ac3 and see if that helps.

If you record one of these channels, and play the recording, does it work or the same problem? If same problem, please supply a sample recording so I can take a look here.

Hi Folks, thanks for the response...

I wasn't sure how to specify x86 vs. x64 for using the LAV decoders, so I uninstalled both, and reinstalled only x86. I tried, but no luck. Weird thing is, 1042-CNBC is working again. I'm almost sure it's because of what's on and what the signal sent is. Saturday afternoon, undercover boss, really old episode.... Any ways, the other channels I mentioned above still behave same with just blank screen in NPVR. I've attached most recent logs.

Sub, yes a recording on one of these troublesome channels behaves the same way. It doesn't go to blank screen, but does attempt to play it. I know because I lose control over menu, but menu is still shown on screen. This is all within NPVR, if I use Kodi to watch same recording, it plays. It's something to do with the SCTE 0xC0 "Programme Information Message" being used by your cable operator. I'm trying to work out why the format doesn't match previous versions of this we've seen in the past.

I'm able to make that file play just fine with one extra line of code (adding "10" to a counter), but it's not a reliable fix, since it'll break other stuff. I'm trying to find the correct way to fix it.

So far, that fixed me up...

Checked all channels originally reported, and they all work. I'm off to test the other 300+ that I don't normally watch.. :-\
