There is no method to do that if you didn't make your own backup. Typically something else is now failing and an older version would fail too.
Best to provide your logs with a better explanation of the problem https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help Martin

What problem is happening? (to give us a clue what we're looking for in the logs)

It helps if I restart the NextPVR Service or stop the started recording and restart the recording again.

It could be a multirec fail but why are you trying to record them twice?
Also please don't upload files with the logs. Martin

I don't try to record twice. When, for example, "This is us" has failed, then I stop the recording and restart it manually.

Thanks for the further explanation. Since the second recording does work on the same tuner it probably is the clue that sub was looking for.
What are you using as your decision to cancel the first recording? This one for Two of Us 40 seconds after it started. 2021-02-25 20.59.40.528 [DEBUG][66] CancelRecording(21633) Also the name of the drive indicates a USB drive, does it require a spin up time? Martin

I used the desktop app to stop recording and re-record. The plate is 5gb seagate sata disk. It doesn't need a spin up time.
Hopefully a solution to the problem can be found when I didn’t notice to make a backup. On the other hand, I can use the old version 4.2.5 alongside. It seems to be playing OK, although of course it is more modest in features.

I meant how did you determine you needed to re-start the recording. File size is not always good especially just 40 seconds in
