Hello sub,

after fixing everything i had on errors in NPVR, i have found something strange, and i hope you can perhaps help.

Me and a friend have both similar behavior, i have DVB-C he has DVB-S.

On some channels there is EPG data for about 14 days. The data is loaded without problems, but:

- For shows that in far future, only basic information is provided
- If the show is then in near future, more EPG data is added
- This change is not updated, the data stays basic.

If i delete all EPG data, and let is grab new, the extended EPG is available, but without that -> no chance.

It would be very very nice, if this could be "fixed".

I guess that, that in the background the data is not updated, because EPG data is already in the database. But the data changes over the time.....

I hope i could explain it in a way, that you understand, what i mean, my english is not perfekt... :-)

Would be great to hear from you.

That doesn't really make sense. Each night it grabs the current EPG data. For each channel it gets EPG data for, it deletes the old listings for that channel, and imports the new data.

No old data should be hanging around. It's replaced each night.

Hello sub, i understand what you explain.

For testing -> is there a possibility to delete all EPG before the update? Automatically every night?

Perhaps a command line, that i can run as scheduled task in windows, that deletes the EPG data, like the button i can click in the Web-GUI?

Thanks, Peter

There is no way you can currently force that. It will always delete all listings for any channels that it gets data for though, so is effectively already doing what you ask.

If you look at the tail end of the EPG update in your logs, you'll see messages like these:

Quote:2021-03-02 21:27:13.178 [DEBUG][18] - saving 243 listings for channel: Together
2021-03-02 21:27:13.178 [DEBUG][18] - saving 279 listings for channel: Challenge
2021-03-02 21:27:13.178 [DEBUG][18] - saving 276 listings for channel: Forces TV
...
2021-03-02 21:27:13.185 [DEBUG][18] Deleting old listings from Channel OID: 7590 (Together)
2021-03-02 21:27:13.186 [DEBUG][18] Deleting old listings from Channel OID: 7739 (Challenge)
2021-03-02 21:27:13.186 [DEBUG][18] Deleting old listings from Channel OID: 7592 (Forces TV)
...
2021-03-02 21:27:13.231 [DEBUG][18] About to save listings
2021-03-02 21:27:15.603 [DEBUG][18] Listings saved...
The first messages are more-accurately saying "I've found x listings for this channel". For any it found listings for, you then get a message like "Deleting old listings from Channel OID: 7590 (Together)", which is where it deletes all the existing listings for that channel...then those last messages where the new data is actually saved

Hello sub. The log says it in that way.

But the data changes, if i clear, and do a resync.

But its ok, recordings work, and thats the important thing.

Thanks for you replies.

Is it possible that your guide data has two type of EPG data now/next and full and NextPVR is sometime grabbing the now / next data.

Also I think I have referred you to Schedules Direct before. If the OTA data is not doing what you want it is available in Germany and it is not expensive at all.

I once tried SD before. And i did not like it at all.

I will stay with direct data.

It is ok, as it is. I thought i perhaps found something that could be optimised. But it seams that i am wrong.

No problem, i am fine with way, NPVR works.

I really love the software, it is definetly the best PVR software i had in the last nearly 20 years.
