Are there any users here who are interested in connecting to NextPVR via the Android TV Live Channels as their primary interface?   I've got the fundamentals working with my MiBox, Tivo 4KStreamer and various Android TV images, and I suspect it would work on the Shield too.  However for the life of me I can't add channels via Google Chromecast's flavour of Live Channels which really was going to be my target player.

The reason I ask is if there is no interest I think I will drop this project.

I would be interested in it. As I've told you in a previous thread never been thrilled with how kodi does certain things. Sub's android app is a big work in progress for android tv. Another option would be appreciated.

Can't tell what you said about new chromecast but I'm guessing it says you can't get working.

Excuse my crappy post I was sitting in the car and bored when I typed that on the phone so I cleaned it up a bit. On the Chromecast I can scan channels but the don't stick.

Live Channels is for Android TV not Android though and I thought you were more interested in Android and Amazon support. What Android TV device do you use?

Switched to the new chromecast with google tv and works great with kodi. Just never liked some visual things in the kodi interface. Firestick had some weird bug that I could never get sorted, so I sold it.

Would love it if subs android app worked well on android tv but it is what it is.

I am hoping the Chromecast will improve, for me there's not much to like. I can't even install Live Channels for the HDHR which is why I think it is a no go in general at this point.

If you add a hub and a better remote, you can probably control sub's app It really was designed primarily a phone app not a TV app.

This would be just to watch Live TV, right? That is, there is no way to play or setup recordings?

It depends on how motivated I am Live Channels allows recordings and an EPG with scheduling.

Controlling and recording on the NextPVR server (like the Kodi client) or just on the local Android TV?

I'd definitely be interested if it meant I could schedule and playback recordings on my nextpvr server. However I suspect this wouldn't ever work for me.

I bought a very nice Sony A9 OLED TV last year. For the UK, live channels are cleverly integrated with catchup TV via the YouView app but this disables the TV recording feature due to Sony not have the necessary commercial agreements with some commercial broadcasters. I think I can disable YouView but not sure if I would want to do this as it might wreck the user experience.
