What are the steps to enable IPTV VOD?

So far all I've been able to find information about, and try, is to:  Change <sendVOD> to "true" in "C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\config.xml" and restart my computer.

Is there more to it than that?

Is this for sending to Kodi? If so you might need to clear the PVR database to get a new channel list and then hope that the number of uploads to Kodi isn't too crazy to be manageable, it is disabled for a reason.

Yeah it will... But even in the channel.list they aren't there or anywhere in the web app.  When I click "Update m3u" in web app they aren't in that list either.

Do you mean to clear the Kodi database. or the NPVR?

(I don't think there are very many videos from my provider as they focused on sports. I can access them on iptv apps. Doesn't seem like much.)

If you mean Kodi then clear the Kodi PVR database in Settings -> PVR

<SendVOD> controls whether the VOD channels are sent to Kodi. The default is to not send these, since it often used to cause issues.

However, this will only do something if you've actually imported the VOD channels into NextPVR. If you don't have them in NextPVR, then there is noting to send to Kodi.

There's the trouble. I thought that meant <sendVod> into NextPVR... So they are definitely not in the channel.list. or in the channel list on the web app when adding a new device. Any ideas why they are being ignored?

I think you need a <ImportVOD>true</ImportVOD> in the <General> section of config.xml, otherwise the 'import m3u' functionality ignores it.

It defaults to not importing VOD content by default, since it doesn't really fit in the whole channels paradigm very well.

That worked... Now they are in the "Update m3u" list.  Thank you so much!

Can I ask real quick what the behaviour of the "Update m3u" screen will be?  I mean if i open it and only select the new channels, will the old channels (that aren't selected) not save too? Do I need to select every channel that I already have in my list? Is there a way to have it only check mark the channels that I already have in my list to get started? I'm only using a small percentage of the channels right now and it takes *a lot* of time to filter through them.

If I want to experiment / try it, is it as simple as copying my "C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\npvr.db3" file to another location. Then when I get unintended results just put it back and everything is honkey dorey again?

Thanks for your help once again!

Yes you can backup your npvr.db3 and restore it later to get back.

It’ll only add new channels. It won’t remove existing ones.
