Hi there :-)

the latest version of NextPVR server ( 2021-06-03 ) seems to run without the two issues mentioned in this thread (sat>ip scan not working and "streaming stops after a few minutes").
Thanks again!

However, I' ve seen this error "Writer can't remove .map file: The process cannot access the file 'xyz.ts.map' because it is being used by another process." again in the logs. It just doesn't have an impact for the user, on the surface everything is fine... worth monitoring ? I didn't save the logs but if needed I can try to reproduce this and send them.

Another question.... I'd like to try the new NextPVR server on my "TV" computer. That one has an older version of NextPVR running that runs really stable.... In order to do a fallback to this older version (just in case...) is it enough to backup the binares folder (C:/program files/NextPVR) and the NextPVR data folder and replace the files ? Or are there any other things to take care of ? (yes i know, stop the service before ;-) anything else ?

Thanks
Rudi

That "error" is normal, and has been there for many versions, you will see it in your other system too.

The best upgrade is running the installer, it is not just a binary change. If you copy both the program folder and user folder you can restore.

The only real question is if http is working well for you why do you want to change to rtsp?

That's simply because http (using .m3u file) won't give me over-the-air EPG. At least this is my understanding :-D

I'd like to get rid of that EPGBuddy stuff and at least here in Germany over-the-air EPG is quite good, gives you 7 days or so on all important channels, some of them missing via external EPGGrabber (resp. the available source). So why maintain an additional SW if it's all there and NextPVR deals well with over-the-air EPG ? ;-)

Ah, that does makes sense. You might also want to try the Schedules Direct trial on your test system it does offer some advantages over OTA, typically more data, a "new" indicator, and better art support.
