Migrate recordings from Windows to Docker

Hi,

I currently have a Nextpvr installation on a Windows 10 machine and I want to import all my recordings to a Docker version on a Synology nas box. But unfortunately it does not work.
The filepath is different, and the import is not working. I have copied all the old recordings to the new Docker installation recording directory.

Does anybody have an advice?

It should work, but you'll need to update the paths in the xml file to match what NextPVR will see them as inside the docker. ie /recordings/....

I did something similar (Windows to Docker, just not on a Synology NAS). As sub indicated, I had to manually edit the XML file so that the old Windows file paths pointed to the new UNIX file paths on Docker. The larger pain is that Windows uses a different directory separator, so as I recall I had to do a couple different global search and replaces to get it all working right. But it did eventually work.

I have renamed most of my channels. Is there an easy way to bring this over or do I have to do it manually?

For recording does the stored channel matter?

I don't know.  I just want to have my channels renamed as before as easily as possible .

If you're importing recordings, it doesn't really matter what your channel name is. (it's just a text string that is shown when you click on a recording to see it's details)

If you're talking about trying to import your actual channels from your Windows machine, there is no channel export/import feature in v5. (and digital tuners on both platforms have different tuning information, so you typically need to set it up from scratch anywhere)

This thread is about recordings not channels, I thought you were talking the channel name text in recordings. There are no tools for channels, you just get the SD name or the OTA names.
