I either double click on XMLTConsole.exe or I double click on the batch file updateepg.bat in NPVR-data\scrips.
Both give me a good result only asking NPVR v5 to Update EPG from the Settings/About page or on the NPVR update timer that the file produced is small.
I have just deleted all .bat files except update from scripts folder, uninstalled XLMTV GUI and deleted all references, then re-installed and set it up again and still I get the same result.
Baffled, why can NPVR call the update batch run the Console and return a small .xml file then when I double click the update batch file or double click the Console.exe I get a file 3 times the size.
It does not make a lot of sense to me and I cannot understand why!

When you double click you don't guarantee what the source home directory is. Running UpdateEPG.bat from the console worked. Do you have some sort of config file in C:\Windows\System32

Thinking about it, you say that you can double click UpdateEpg.bat and it creates a big file, yet when you followed my instructions from the command line https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid562772 it failed to make the big file. That doesn't make sense because the batch file does change drives and folders.

I don't understand it either.
I have decided to uninstall again make sure all the traces are cleaned out and set it up again from scratch over the next couple of days when I can find a bit more time.
I will update this post with the result.

OK so I completely removed XMLTV GUI and all traces.
Re-installed set it all up again and got the same result, it ran a full file from the Console and the .bat file but only a short file from NPVR Update EPG.
So I uninstalled and cleaned up again and installed XMLTV GUI in the C:\Program Files folder wrote a new .bat file for the new location and still got the same result....
Console works
.bat file works
NPVR EPG update calls the .bat file runs but finishes before a full download.
Is there a setting in the config file that might control this?

Sub and I both explained the batch file is finishing. Did you really confirm the batch file is working? When you ran this https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid562772 you said it was a smaller file which the filename.txt confirmed was the same as what NextPVR was creating.

If you want you can PM me a link with the zipped file with the whole folder for the XMLTV GUI. I believe it will contain you login credentials for digiguide.

Thanks for the PM, I got it and DigiGuide installed. What region should I install? I get more channels then you but the file is not 50MB

If you are paying for Digiguide yearly and only use it for NextPVR you might want to consider Schedules Direct before you renew. It is much easier than all this.

Also the batch file you sent with running from C:\Program Files\ not from G:\XMLTV_GUI\

"C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\XmltvConsole.exe"

If you want to use that you might need to use

C:
CD "C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\"
XmltvConsole.exe

I use United Kingdom, Midlands (Central) with most of the channels from Freeview HD and Freesat HD.
I tested Schedules Direct but it doesn't have all the channels and only provides data for one week at best not at least two weeks.
I have tried with XMLTV GUI installed on my G:\ drive with the first .bat I sent. which is
G:
CD "G:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\"
XmltvConsole.exe
I have also tried XMLTV GUI Installed on my C:\ drive with the output to the G:\ drive
Tried all ways!
I can try
C:
CD "C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\"
XmltvConsole.exe

tomorrow but

@echo off
"C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\"
seems to work just fine if I double click it, only runs short from Update EPG.
Strange
regards
Bob

Thank you for all your help with this issue!
After too much frustration I have moved to Schedules Direct.
It's twice the price of a Digiguide subscription and only has about 7/8 days worth of forward listings which I shall have to try and get used to.
Only time will tell!

I still think you could get it working but I've always felt Schedules Direct is worth a cup of coffee a month for PVR users because of the ease of install and the minimum support required. The accurate new flag, duplicate recording id's. You will find that te program art is also more accurate, complete and downloads quicker from Schedules Direct.
