That file is very interesting the way the pts/dts timeline gets changed so often (5 times)

Martin.

What tool do you use to look at the timeline details?

ffprobe is very handy at reporting the pts and dts of video files but I don't provide support in ffmpeg or ffprobe command line use

Thanks, I was just curious. If I ever have the need, I can search for the details on using ffmpeg of ffprobe for whatever it is I might need it for in the future.
Right now, I'm good with the solution for the problem I brought up in the thread.

Not sure why the broadcast has this issue. Maybe it has something to do with placing timing cues to local cable companies so they can insert their local ads into the show (or maybe it's the local ads themselves not syncing seamlessly into the stream).

Would it be informative to anyone here if I record a future episode of this problem show with WMC and make that file available to analyze here? I don't know that I ever had this problem with the .wtv files of that show. Maybe I did. I may record the next episode using both NextPVR and WMC just to see for myself.  Unless there's a real-time timecode correction going on in wmc, the same problem should exist in both files.

WTV files in WMC are remuxed. It is a seekable but also proprietary container. If you want something similar in NextPVR there is an option to convert recordings to mp4 on the web server. The issue with this is it is a transcoding solution, and many users are happy doing lighter remuxing via a custom post processing batch file.

I have considered an option in the Settings page for auto-remuxing recordings, which would effectively run the same thing automatically at the end of each recording.

It's not a common issue, but some people definitely have issues that need it.

That makes sense. No reason to have to transcode to fix this specific problem when there are less destructive ways to fix the issue.

If it's something that could be set under the scheduling section where it would only apply to a specific scheduled shows, and even then, maybe it would only appear as an option if someone selects the "auto-remuxing" option you add in the settings. But now I'm overstepping and becoming a pseudo software designer.
I don't know that enough people have this problem to warrant you changing the program. I can easily run a manual script with FFMPEG or set up a recurring script to fix the only show that has this problem.

Thanks for NextPVR!

Could it be added as a hidden menu option for recordings? I envision trying to watch a recording, seeing it has issues, selecting to remux it in the background, watch another recording and then, come back and watch the now fixed recording.
Tuners: SD HDHR Prime (HDHR3-CC). SD HDHR Connect Quatro Tuner (HDHR5-4US) - only QAM.  EXVIST H.265 Encoder - capturing cable box.
Client: Odroid-N2 running knewc on KODI - connected via MoCA.
EPG: SchedulesDirect
Provider: Verizon Fios
Server: Dell XPS 8700 with Windows 10

That sounds good but many people don't use NextPVR.exe or UI clients.  v4's Timing.info was actually a good workaround for the ts container, and worked pretty well on on bad recordings.  I think a byterange m3u8 file might be just as effective for non-transcoding clients that support.
