Lost all fuctions

Hi all

I am new to next PVR and having used it for a brief time I really found it to be brilliant. 

However, I lost my internet connection while recording and I have lost all functionality. 

When I open NextPVR app on my desktop I receive the message "Unable to connect to the remote server". However, I can view my channel list. 

When I go onto the setting on the browser all the settings are lost and I receive this error message Unexpected error loading settings

I am new to this so any help would be appreciated - Thanks

It's saying the NextPVR Service isn't running in the background. Try rebooting and it should auto start.

The browser page is only showing you information from the cache which can be a bit confusing. These typically show that the NextPVR Service is not running or you have lost networking because of a firewall, antivirus suite or VPN being improperly configured.

If it isn't networking did you reboot your PC? If so, please check the Windows Services to ensure that the NextPVR Service is running. If it isn't, start it and confirm it is set to start on statup

Hi all

Thank you for the responses

I have restarted my PC and uninstalled and reinstalled NextPVR, when I did this I could reinstall the channel list but then deleted.

However I think the problem lies with the VPN - I am using surfshark. Any recommendations on what I can do to continue using this VPN?

Sometimes there is a problem configuring the hostname defined as localhost Can you ping it? If not check your VPN support on how to access that. It might be as simple as adding uncommenting lines in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Also from the web browser you can try 127.0.0.1 or [::1] as your server. If that works, I am not sure how NextPVR.exe connects so sub would need to comment
