I have a guide service that will create TVPI xml files that can apparently remote schedule programs in some DVRs.   I have been able to configure the XML to use the same channel numbers that NextPVR has assigned.     Is there any way to drop a TVPI into a directory folder and get it automatically imported by NextPVR to schedule a recording ?     Thank you for a great product !

I remember one time reading about Titan TV using this but what is the value of not using NextPVR's guide?

The Titan TV guide has a some UX features that would be nice to have in NextPVR giving it more functionality and better coloring by genre. Its also easier and quicker to use as I can see the descriptions of each displayed show without having to hover or click on them. I also like the option of clicking to a "daily view" for any specific channel and being able to filter the guide by genre (e.g. just show me documentaries). I've been toying with the idea of studying the EPG and Recording tables in npvr.db3 to come up with my own TV guide, but that will have to wait until I retire next year. For now I've been using Titan TV to quickly find the shows I want to record for the next week and then use the NextPVR guide to schedule them. Are there any other types of XML files that can be imported easily into nextpvr to schedule a recording ?

Seems like too much work for me, but I appreciate the everyone has their own way of doing things NextPVR client and web have EPG genre colouring when the guide data is good. NextPVR web has a genre search too. Are you using mc2xml to create the guide data? Perhaps the XMLTV file that it creates needs to be looked into.

From the development side it would be pretty simple to write a program to parse the tvpi file in a command line file that gets associated to a tvpi extension that gets called when you download, no need to monitor anything or change NextPVR. I'd see if you could do that before touching the database.

In the distant past there was some support for .TVPI files for scheduling, but it's long gone.

Looking at a TVPI file this is really simple and I see that WinTV was doing the same thing I was thinking about, it even registers the tvpi extension in my browser and we don't even have Titan TV here in Canada. If you want to provide me a copy of your database and let me know your zip code, I should be able to whip something up.

I'm in Canada too but created my own custom lineup in Titan TV based on a buffalo zip code which gives me access to both Canadian and American channels on Titan. For NextPVR I'm using schedule direct (with 4 lineups, Rogers Canada, Buffalo Direct, and 2 in U.K.) and another EPG source with 3 XMLTV lineups (Canada, U.S. and U.K). I have configured my Titan TV lineup to use the same channel numbers as my NextPVR channels although I can't get U.K channels via Titan. Was hoping to be able to trigger a recording from Titan by passing over a TVPI file. Does that sound feasible ? If so, then I'll zip up my NPVR.db3 file and send it in.

One issue though, my npvr.db3 contains my credentials for IPTV and my EPG services so I'm not really comfortable sending it in ?

It's very feasible, you can PM me with a link if you want, and feel free to change any passwords afterwards, I don't need to watch any more TV channels.

If you want you can back up your npvr.db3, and then delete the IPTV source and restore your backup.

I see a major issue mapping keeping the channel names and numbers in sync with IPTV XMLTV though so it would be better to see what you've got.
