Ok that didn't work, so I went back to the other Canadian site and used channel.txt and I made progress but never got to the point of updating the tempest config file. Save didn't do anything or update the blank one I have.

Sorry I think I am going to give up now. For some countries it could be useful, but I never see myself recommending this.

I think you are not clicking register button which is top of channel selection boxes, first. Register will save your line-up first and allow you to change xmltv_id / display names etc or adding cyclone(alternative channel) and save button will send everything indexed/registered to file.

As you wish, Martin. Thanks for your time

No I clicked register there is a spinner and I can see it is available in the next windows where I tried with and without the cyclone info.

But after save, they are not being physically transferred to config file you created? So if you are in linux, it looks like file permissions. In windows it must work

I dont want to bother you too much as you already decided to give up but of course if you want, Could you try to save a new config only with some channels out of that canada one? As I told you there is a parsing error which may cause faulty generated data. I am planning to delete them until fixed back on Saturday or Sunday.

Otherwise, thanks again for your support. I will try to think what else may cause such empty update

In my last tests I was only selecting one channel from the flixed channel.xml if that is what you mean. Since it wasn't save it didn't make sense to do more.

Hi Martin,

Actually I meant a non-Canada content but nevermind. It is obvious that something about your server setup is blocking data writing (probably xml and/or simplexml extension) but hard to guess without seeing/knowing your server details or any reported error. I am actively using Tempest for myself on windows(development server) and debian/linux for 2 years and even able to save 5000 channels with one-click on my rpi0w which is very low grade hardware. Yesterday, one user in another forum mentioned about similar config saving issue of Wamp server and he stated ipv6 binding of his apache setup was causing it after disabling it everything worked perfectly. I dont want to share link of another forum here. Anyway, unfortunately this is the problem of php projects since there is no standart configuration/server setup and each server has its own settings. So I tried but I know that I cannot always win  Smile

I deleted tempest.new.config and a new empty one does get re-created in the same folder, so how can that be permissions? I have only been adding the xmltv file name perhaps you need more to write?

I dont clearly understand your msg, Martin. Since as you stated that you are in windows, it cannot be permission issue. Tempest will check its folder structure and always create 1 default file (If not exist there) as "tempest.config.xml" a long with other config files. But this default empty file's creation method is different from the one you update by adding channels. Normally during that update 2 php extensions are being used as "simplexml" and "dom" which Mostly bundled together with php's "xml" extension but their enable/disable status is vary for different servers. To understand request is being sent or not, you just may check modification time of file.
Choose new
Type a config name as test
Add 1 channel and register
Save and check test.config.xml is being created with selected channel
Or being modified if you reopened already existing file
You should be able to see all created config files inside/tempest_config folder as in photo
