Hello sub.

Actually, i have a problem with NPVR.

In the past few weeks, i recognized, that if a recording is running at EPG update time, the EPG does not update.

I have 8 Tuners, they are all for the same source. It looks correct in the Device menu. In the station list, i see every station has 8 sources.

So i decided to delete the tuners, and add them new, with a copy of the scan. One after the other: Deleted tuner 1 -> recans tuners -> add tuner 1 with a copy of the scan result / delete tuner 2 -> rescan tuners -> add tuner 2 and so on.

In the devices settings everything looks fine, and live TV and scheduled recordings work.

But if i do an EPG scan, nothing gets scanned. (0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped)

In the "Guide settings" in the EPG setup i only see "seconds per frequency" but no frequencies.

Can you help me, to get the EPG scan working again? I also would hope, that if 8 tuners are available, NPVR should simply take a free tuner if one of them is recording....

Thanks for your help!

Logs are attached.

Peter

The EPG update is tied to the specific tuner that was used to initially scan the channel in. It doesn't switch to other tuners (mainly for reasons related to DVB-S, where not all tuners are equal).

You can reduce the priority of that tuner, so it's less likely to be in use.

At the moment it does not scan at all.... No frequencies listed in the EPG Update list.

Looks like you've deleted the capture source they were tied to.

You could try going into Settings->Channels->Advanced Tools, and selecting Automap, and map to none, then map to DVB EPG.

Hello sub.

Yes, that worked. I have a SQL viewer (SQLite) to look into the database, now the EPG is mapped to devices 115 (tuner number 1).

Would it be possible to map it to tuner 122? That would be the last one?

But: I am not good in SQL, i dont know how do to something there, i can only read it.....

You could possibly move the tuner you’d like to use for the epg to the top of the priority list (hold ctrl key, then click up), then repeat that remap process, then move it back down the list.

Did not work. It always maps to 115.

Hmmm......

By the way, a friend of mine also uses NPVR. He uses Astra 19.2 DVB-S (i am on DVB-C). I have created a current Transponder list. Do you want it, so that you can update it in NPVR? Because there where a lot of changes in the past years. I have attached it.

I resorted the tuners, so that 115 is the last one.

So the tuner should never be used for recording, and the epg update should work.

Thanks once again, for your super fast help!

Note it will be used for live tv as priority unless you change config.xml

<ReversePriorityForLiveTV>true</ReversePriorityForLiveTV>

Ah, ok. Thank you.

Would be great if EPG would simply use a free DVB-C device. So there would be no problem.

Or one tuner could be selected exclusively for EPG.
