As much as I would like to try and write it myself. I thought that if you've got the power scheme selections working properly, then a suggestion would be to have the scheme turned on by a timer.

Say set the power scheme to "always on" during the day, when the machine would be used, and then set it to a scheme where hibernation is turned on for the night time, and that it will turn itself off.

Any progress of changing power schemes from the MVP?

A scheduled power scheme would also be nice, to often my PC turns off my
movies in the middle of them (suspends after 1h inactivity ;-)

I had this working a while back, and you could change power schemes from the MVP. I think if you changed the service to run as you then this would choose the correct power schemes - it was quirky but worked for me.

The DLL i wrote was in Pure Basic and I was in the process of writing this in C#, but after my computer died and a few other distractions this got put to the side.

I'll be back home this weekend so will see if I can find this tool and see what status it is in. I'm travelling during the week these days so don't get much time to tinker with GBPVR plugins.
