Jellyfin 10.8 Alpha & Beta

The whole purpose of the Jellyfin addon is to link with NextPVR so your scheduling and recording are in NextPVR, streaming is from NextPVR and it uses NextPVR's guide. Effectively the Jellyfin server is a client to NextPVR which acts as a kind of a proxy server for Jellyfin clients.

I just updated from Jellyfin 10.7.7 to Jellyfin 10.8.0-beta1 (with nextpvr plugin v7.0.0) for test, and are having some problems now.
According to the Jellyfin team, the 10.8 beta release also marked a feature freeze, so only bug fixes will be released from now until a stable release.
So with that in mind there will probably not be many breaking changes going forward, so I thought it would be a good time to report this issue here.

Main issue is that I'm not able to play live tv. What works is channel list and EPG with artwork. But live tv won't start, and I don't see listing of previous recordings or schedules.
(I didn't use to have the "Unauthenticated Access" checked in NextPVR settings. I have checked it now though for testing, but it doesn't make any difference to my problem.)

I don't think you are using the version I uploaded in this thread for JF 10.8. I will upload a fixed version (fro Movies) tomorrow

Unauthenticated access wouldn't be necessary if NextPVR and Jellyfin are on the same PC, the filesystem will be used.

Note make sure you upload zipped logs and for Jellyfin also add their zipped logs.

No, I use the version from the Jellyfin repo, but I thought v7 there included the change you did in this thread since the date and changelog for that version matched pretty well with your fix in this thread.
Jellyfin and NextPVR runs on two separate PCs as that worked well with previous version.
I can get the zipped log files if you need now, otherwise I will keep that in mind for next time.

Thanks. Someone updated JSON handling in the addon without testing it so the API wasn't working at all. I fixed that but it seems another change in Jellyfin broke Live TV. I have posted something to Jellyfin to see if there is anything I can to to fix LiveTV.

Could you let me know if this works for you.  I found a parameter that got Live TV working but I have not idea if this is the correct way to get the addon working.  There is no direction, document etc for writing the addon, updating from previous versions etc.

I saw your battle on github, so I must say I really appreciate the effort.
I have tested your new test build for a few minutes now. Live TV works fine (including timeshift), and the extra movie genre is gone.

I can also schedule recordings, but the recordings themselves doesn't populate in the recording section in Jellyfin (this was working with your other build in this thread). This is the only problem I have found.
If I swap back to the old plugin from this thread, to populate the recordings, and back to the new plugin. The recordings stay populated, and I can play them. If I delete one recording, it gets deleted, but it stays in the recordings section of Jellyfin.
So it appears as if this part works, it is just not being refreshed.

Another minor issue. The plugin itself also report that it is version 5 (it also did that with your other build in this thread). Functionally-wise it doesn't seem to do anything, but it could possibly lead to it being auto updated at some point.

Recordings are populated here. They are loaded by pull only though, unlike Emby and Kodi, I cannot push updates to jellyfin so it might be a question of waiting.

I do seem to have a occasional problem playing recording via http, they may have changed something there too. Filesystem access seems to work. I will wait to hear if there is any action on the github PR. No point in doing anything if it won't be released. I detest how much work this addon takes, and how little respect the core developers give to the addon API. They change at will and provide no documentation or direction when they do.

You do see you need to enable unauthenticated access to play recordings since you aren't using filename mode. To have this error your recordings must be loading.

I have no idea how the automated version numbering works in the jellyfin DevOps and their "store" My internal version number is 8. I see 5 too, and github says Version 7.

Yes I realized I had to enable unauthorized access to play recordings, so maybe I did that after I copied the logs.
Ok, I'll wait and see if the new recording I started to test pops up later. In any case for me personally it is the live tv that is more important.
I also understand if you don't want to spend more time on this addon, Specially since you don't use it yourself.
I'm happy with the test build you've provided, so you can just hold off any further debugging for my sake. Maybe the jellyfin team will give proper api documentation at some point that can be used at a later stage.

Its not that I don't want to keep it going, Jellyfin could be a fine product, but there are also so many LiveTV clients that are way better that Jellyfin, it isn't really needed.  Also there are still errors in the beta and recordings do work most of the time so I don't want to spend time on a moving target.  Maybe one day I will add a push capability to the core, I was planning on it, their developers are a bit elitist.

I did find another change in 10.8 JSON handling that was causing new logins to the NextPVR server every twenty seconds which I have fixed in the attached and you really should update.  Mapping for JSON field names with underscores don't work as-is.  I fixed one, but if you find missing data elements let me know.
