For those of you using Schedules Direct, there is some changes underway in the SD service that will affect your ability to get artwork in NextPVR.

For NextPVR v5 users, if you log into the web app at http://localhost:8866, then view http://localhost:8866/service?method=set...d.clearart, then on the Settings->About page do an 'empty epg' followed by an 'update epg', your artwork will begin functioning again.

For NextPVR v4 users, you will stop receiving any artwork from Schedules Direct in a few weeks, so it might finally be time for you to think about upgrading to v5.

After Update EPG, this line is displayed:
"EPG Update, [0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped)]"

My TV Guide is not displaying anything, but otherwise looks normal. I have a new Linux NextPVR v5 installed and I thought this might fix the empty EPG problem. I have Schedules Direct and I think it is setup correctly. There are no errors resulting from the SD Username and Password that I am using. My only concern is that the SD Password entry box is behaving oddly with the DOTS. After I enter my password, there is a DOT for each character of my password, but when I check back later there are more dots than I have letters in my password. This does not seem normal, but maybe it is a security thing that tries to hide the length of my password, but that does not explain the odd behavior of the DOTS otherwise. Tnx for any help.

The number of dots thing is normal. The web app has no idea what your password is, so doesn't attempt to show a certain number of dots.

Regarding the EPG Update not pulling any listings in, post the question in the support forum, along with your logs and I'll take a look.

Since the post (before it was hijacked) was from August 2021, I guess you can tell us. SD still haven't implemented all the security that they planned

Here are some key differences for v4 art

Schedules Direct - no security downloads could fail when/if implemented, several lookup bug fixes, no support for remakes
TMDB - no support for TV Series. TMDB is now standard for Kodi
TVMaze - not supported
TVDB - will fail when their legacy API is disabled V5 dropped TVDB support when they announce that they were going pay only
