Channel name issue

Over the weekend I was trying to add additional over the air channels that recently became available.
At one point I decided to remove all the existing channels and re-add everything I needed.
At least one of the channel names had changed, I.E. from KDFWDT to KDFW-DT. This caused all recurring recordings for this channel to no longer work (be scheduled).
The channel number has not changed. Below is a screen shot of the current channel and the scanned channel.

I've reverted to my database backup, so am ok for now.

I do have a situation where ABC is now available on another frequency and if it has a stronger signal I would like to switch to it and drop the old frequency.
Both ABC stations have the same name and channel, but different frequencies.

First stop the NextPVR Service service in windows. Next,  open the DB (npvr.db3) and go to the CHANNEL table. There will be a list of all your channels and you can modify the name field of whatever channel you are doing. Write the changes to the DB and start the service and you should have a renamed channel.

I think this is from old mapping, NextPVR will now map to the OTA name that you get from the scan. Since it just one channel just rename from gear icon.

Yes, unless you use all channels or custom rules.

Generally recurring recordings are not based on the channel name. They're based on their channel id. You've deleted that channel, so it no longer exist. You'd probably need to delete and recreate the recurring recording.

Sorry I did test this earlier and I thought it worked by channel name because it gets highlighted but what happens is it does record in again but by name and I think the unique id.

The only way to change a channel id would be to go to Kodi pvr.nextpvr and from there select the proper channel.

Which client?  A change like this has a ripple effect on all the other clients, sub would need to change 5.  Technically now that you have changed oid's it is acting like a all channels though and that is how I show it in Kodi. 

Note too you can create an All Channels New recording in Kodi, but if you modify it in any other client, it could break.

Thanks. Sounds like it would be a bit of work to add that option. I don't use Kodi, it doesn't fit my requirements.
I'm testing the new channels now to see if the signal is stronger. I do have an HDHR that I'm not using, so I'll see what it indicates for signal strength on those channels.
My plan is to edit the database if I do need to modify the recording settings. (after a backup first of course)
