Roku NextPVR Channel

I am happy to announce a new client for NextPVR using a Roku channel.  This channel will provide users with the same Look and Feel as NextPVR.exe for Windows and for knewc and nlite on other platforms.

This is pretty much a worse case scenario since I am playing from a remote NextPVR server over the Internet, using Locast.org not a tuner which is also receiving over the Internet, and playing on low end Roku player using 2.4 Ghz Wifi.

If addition to NextPVR Live TV and Recordings you will be able to access your Video, Music and Picture Libraries including playback of mkv, mp4, webm, mp3 and FLAC files containing many formats.

Hi,
I just set up NextPVR on a Raspberry Pi 4B, HDHomerun Duo and Roku TV. I was so impressed by how much nicer the NextPVR interface is than the HDHomerRun app. However. When I'm watching a channel with marginal reception (a little pixelated but totally viewable) The Stream stops and displays the error: "-5 malformed data" then goes back to the NextPVR menu.

I have tried installing the new app via the Roku link above. When I click on "Add Channel" all I get is something flashing on the screen and a millisecond later it is gone so I don't know what it is. I get no message that the channel will be added soon nor is the channel added to any of my 3 Roku devices - two TV and a Roku Express. Is this app still available or is their something else strange going on.

I read quite a few post about the Roku app expiring etc. but not all. Is an Android device still a better option? Is their an App for the Fire Stick, which I actually have unlike an Android device?

I did read that post, but to be completely honest with all the post I read regarding this issue I was confused. I understood that Roku was ending support for some older apps, then I read the first post of this thread that a new version was available. I had the misunderstanding that the new version replaced the older one, which I now assume it didn't resolve the issue with Roku.

That first thread was from 2021 and the Roku policy changes happened in 2022 and I don't typically go back and to find old threads that contain obsolete information. Thanks for pointing it out though, hopefully this will be less confusing now.
