Cannot change designated target folder for recording files

I have a 256 GB SSD boot drive © and a 3TB designated HDD that I have used for storing recorded TV files and has been in place for years.

After upgrading NPVR to v6 (from v4) recently the recordings all are sent to C drive, which is not what I want. When I go into the settings my preferred target folder is listed second after C. which is listed as default.
I select C, and delete it. 
As quickly as I can do that, it repopulates automatically and begins sending recorded files to C drive again. 

This has never been an issue for me before. any thoughts?

There are two are there, you need to edit the recording directory in the first field. The fields with the trash cans under it are the secondary directories if you want to specify them for specific recordings.
