So when it runs and you hit ctrl-c the file is not created?

No when its launched it makes the file. I have deleted it and moved directories just to see what happens. It always creates the file when the command is launched then nothing from where ever the directory the command is launched in

So it is created and zero bytes? I have no clue what this means "then nothing from where ever"

Also are you getting WRITE message displayed to the screen the whole time until you hit ctrl-c?

Ok as long as you tried, 0 doesn't mean no bytes, especially on Linux.

I have updated your file to flush stdout just in case that is a problem on your system.  I changed the timouts to what I thought were better based on this conversation.
