I am using a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD on a Kubuntu 22.04 machine. I installed with the debian package and software appears to run smooth. At least right to that moment, where I want to scan for channels. I am using the ch-Bern-upc-cablecom setting, which should match. The values in the file correspond to the values given by UPC. I can click "Scan Channels" and I get a few service channels, but I do not get any of the TV stations. The log shows the lines included at the end.
The sameWinTV stick on a Windows machine does find all channels, unfortunately leaving it there is not a solution, and I understood that the files are not compatible. Is there something I can do to make NextPVR search thorougher?

If you scan manually in Ubuntu, (after stopping the nextpvr-service) with

dvbv5-scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-c/ch-Bern-upc-cablecom

Do it find any more channels?

I would say no, but I get also an error message. It is in german, though, saying something like "ERROR Command BANDWIDTH_HZ (5) not found during query". No idea what it wants to tell me. Undecided

When you scanned in WinTV what tuning file did you use?

Yes, valid question, thanks. There was no Switzerland section, so I used "All Countries / All Frequencies (6900MBd SR)". In fact, I was looking for such an option in Linux as well, but did not find congruent information to create an own settings file.

Totally wouldn't surprise me if the frequencies in this file are incorrect, so I suggest checking that, and maybe editing it for the correct tuning details.

Thanks for the heads-up. I had checked that file and still cannot find an error.

File:
[CHANNEL]
DELIVERY_SYSTEM = DVBC/ANNEX_A
FREQUENCY = 426000000
SYMBOL_RATE = 6900000
INNER_FEC = NONE
MODULATION = QAM/64
INVERSION = AUTO

UPC website:
Network-ID: 43020
Frequenz MHz: 426
Frequenz kHz: 426000
Modulation: QAM64
Symbolrate: 6900

Did dvbv5-scan create a conf file? If so can you give an example?

I did now also check the frequencies given by NextPVR on Windows and created a dozen of scan files in Linux. Linux and Windows agree on what channel is on what frequency. What I want to say: I now have a file where frequency 338 Mhz is specified. Scanning this frequency gives me some channels, another file with another frequency gives a few more and so forth. I do not know if that is intended behaviour and unless I have a full frequency scan like in Windows, I do not know what the correct frequencies should be.

So if you want, there is indeed some problem with the scan file. From user perspective the problem is elsewhere, though. ;-)
