Scan gives only a few channels

if you go to settings> channels you have a complete list of frequencies used in windows and you can compare it with kubuntu

The scan file comes from your disro, so complain to them. Linux dvb support is inferior to Windows in many ways since it is user based. As you noted you can create an scan file you want and then if you create like submit it to Linux for updating.

If you want to supply your zipped npvr.db3 file I can see if I can generate a Linux scan file for you.
