Do a search on comclean. I use this first and then Womble mpeg-vcr in case comclean misses something.

Oops, didn't notice the Xvid in the title. Comclean and womble work on mpeg files. I believe that virtualdub will edit files that are already in avi format. The only thing I use virtualdub for is to resize divx files for the mvp.

thats fine i convert to xvid after it records into mpeg.. but i was looking at the forums and there where some about a postprocessing.bat ... which i dont have located anywhere..

it's not there by default. If you create a postprocessing.bat file in your gbpvr folder, it will be run after a recording is done.
I'm not always right

so create the .bat and have the two other files(comclean and mpgtx) and it should run auto after show?? what about shows that have alread ybeen recorded?

I don't know how comclean works. I suppose you have to run comskip first? And then, in postprocessing.bat, call comclean on the recording? Do a search for comclean here on the forum, I'm sure there must be some info on how to accomplish what you want.

Just run comskip and then comclean on them manually. (right click, open with, choose programs, browse for comskip, etc. ) I end up doing this often enough that these two progs are on the list of defaults whenever I right click an mpeg file.
This is will give you two mpeg files. Then I open the one without the word original in the name using womble. You can scan the file manually to see if there are any remaining commercials. If I want to keep a copy of the show I will encode the resulting cleaned file using xvid and autogk.

If you have womble you can also use comskip to generate the womble cliplist by putting
output_womble=1 in the comskip.ini. Or you can convert the .txt file to a womble cliplist by using convert2wme (can be downloaded here) When you read in the generated comble cliplist womble will open the list of clips and all the show segments and commercial segments will be as seperate clips in the clip list. Easy to review.
