Hello all,

(Edit: had to reduce screenshot sizes for it to post)

I’m new to nextpvr. I’ve been looking for a ‘one size fits all’ solution for my IPTV needs. So far nextpvr has been great. One issue I have found is the following:

(Might be related to this: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...ght=aspect )

When playing a stream fullscreen using the web app, I have a large black bar at the bottom of the screen. I have tested this on chrome, safari and opera – all the same. I’ve also tested multiple different channels from multiple locations, no difference. When not in fullscreen mode, the stream seems to align quite well with the browser window, relatively speaking.
I haven’t been able to find any ‘aspect ratio’ settings on the server. I’m not someone particularly adversed to black bars when watching a movie, but this is a bit of an eye-sore as it fills the whole screen barring about 200px at the bottom.

A similar problem is on the iOS app on an iPhone 12, iPad seems to be fine, black bars top and bottom but equally sized.

I could understand if this is an aspect issue, but using apps dedicated to IPTV, I don’t have this problem.

Environment (Web)
MacBook Pro 16 M1 2021

Server
Synology DS920+
Latest Nextpvr image running in docker (nextpvr_amd64)
Running on docker bridge network (FYI, I found that running the image on a custom bridge network interferes with M3U importing)

iOS
iPhone 12 Pro
iPad Air 4

Chrome MacOS
Safari macOS
iOS app (iPhone)

Technical aspects of iOS and the Web App can pretty much only be supported by sub. If ffmpeg is involved (you didn't include the required logs) then NextPVR is pretty much brute force expecting a 16:9 screen. Phones are often not 16:9 so black bars are expected.

Thank you for your reply Martin. I was not aware to upload the log files. I have attached the web app logs.

Yes, it is using ffmpeg for transcoding so it is far from a native stream. Sub will need to help you. It could be because you have enabled the 1080p profile so you are forcing it.

I've tried using the default transcoder profile, same issue.

It will still be best not to force 1080p for IPTV. You will need to wait for sub for iOS but I would definitely recommend you try Kodi with pvr.nextpvr over the browser client on the M1.

What platforms are each of those screenshots, and were they using the web player or app?

First one is iOS 16.3.1 - App
2nd/3rd/4th Mac OS 13.2.1 - Web player

Adding a new fullscreen screenshot, web app, Opera 96.0.4693.80 (arm64) - if I could figure out how attachments work Attachments are just disappearing for me after posting. Posting a link if that's ok:

Thanks for the help!

Let know if replacing your player.html with the one attached helps for playback in your web browsers.
