I happy to announce the beta release of a new Windows client for the NextPVR backend.  For more information please checkout the test wiki  https://github.com/emveepee/Testing/wiki/yauiclient

Given that there over a dozen clients for NextPVR you may wonder why this is necessary.  For many of you it isn't and for Windows you should stick with NextPVR.exe or NLite if they work with for you.  Where most clients are most lacking is Windows support for AC-4 audio from ATSC 3.0 available from the Flex 4K

Additionally the new client uses libmpv which provides opportunity to provide support for new media types and features not in other client.  The one that I find most interesting right now is multi session support as explained on the wiki.  If you want the sports bar feel or like watching multiple video streams together it can be fun.  I find it better than PIP especially on the big screen

If there is enough interest I can also expend on the media types available in the Video Library.

Great job on this Client I was able to watch 4 shows at once and the ATSC 3.0 channels play great. Easy to setup and use.

Hi Martin,

Oh, I have been looking forward to a fast stable Windows based client for years, since installing V5 NextPVR when it came out, onto my Unraid NAS box. I have found all the other client solutions including KODI based and NLite to be unresponsive and somewhat flaky (just bombs out, or takes ages to start playing).

That has left me still running V4 on my 10 year old+ Windows based media PC and using the NextPVR.exe clients that still work with the V4 server, which is stable and snappy.
Inital download and use of this client looks like it has answered my prayers. Here's hoping!

Regards
Damian

Hi Martin,
Is there a way such as editing the config file, to changing the date format of the recordings from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy for us across the Pacific?

Since it is a UI client it follows the same rules as NextPVR.exe and I don't know how that is done.

It uses the date format for the machine. ie, you can probably change it in the regional settings (or registry).

Hi sub,
Apologies, I have been away from home this week so only got back to this. Do you mean this date settings of the client or the server?

In my case I am running a docker in an Unraid server to run the NextPVR server.  My client machine is running Windows and is set for NZ date/time format.

The recordings listing in the server display in DD/MM/YYYY format, NLite client connecting to the server IP address is in MM/DD/YYYY format, and my client PC system tray at the very botton right corner reads DD/MM/YYYY format.

It may be that I have to somehow set the docker environment running NextPVR to be in the correct date format.

Regards
Damian

Yes it will be the locale of the Docker not the client.

I found this example for setting language https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid572569 you might need to something to setup a NZ locale. (en_NZ)

Server side setting.

Quote:The recordings listing in the server display in DD/MM/YYYY format
I'm assuming you mean in the web browser? This will be using client side settings.

Quote:NLite client connecting to the server IP address is in MM/DD/YYYY format
These screens are generated on the server, and will use whatever the default date format is for the container.

ie, sounds like your client is set correctly, but your server is not. You'd need to tell docker your locale.
