NextPVR service blocking shutdown during LiveTV or Recording

To NextPVR forum,

I am having a problem with NextPVR blocking shutdown during LiveTV and Recordings even though I have specifically set the following settings in the NextPVR config.xml file.

Code:

<BlockShutdownWhileRecording>false</BlockShutdownWhileRecording>

and this:

Code:

<PrimeDigitalTuners>false</PrimeDigitalTuners>

Why is the NextPVR service not closing/stopping during shutdown?

Is there another setting that needs to be changed or is it a bug?

I am not the service it is probably the tray app https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64207 Could you try the new app in that thread and report back? I am not sure if it respects that setting.

I have updated my NextPVR to the latest release just now and tried to reproduce the problem.

Even with the latest stable release the problem still exists.  NextPVR is blocking shutdown if a recording is running or live TV is running.

My NextPVR Version installed is:

Version: 6.1.3.230521

The application does intentionally block shutdown when recording or livetv is active.

As far as I can see, the application doesn’t look at this <BlockShutdownWhileRecording> setting you've mention. You can just stop the tray from autostarting though, and that should allow you manually shutdown while recording.

I can look into adding a setting to conditionally control this.

I have disabled the Tray Icon NPVRTray.exe from starting up now.

It would be good to have a setting for this.

I have added it for the next build. It's reusing that old BlockShutdownWhileRecording setting.
