I could add a setting for that, but you'll probably end up with same image for fanart and landscape, so not entirely sure it's worth doing. We might be better off to just make the other change, returning the fanart images to Kodi.

Changing the default will impact this where the same call is used https://imgur.com/a/JT5jiDe if landscape art is optionally selected for the EPG I don't recommend it anyway but it is already an option.

I will look at making the two change in Kodi to the two but most of this is because the web client set the rules for what the user can and can't see but only from SD which makes no sense.

I will go back to my original discussion with sub that landscape should still prefer higher res if 1280x720 is not available.  Low res rarely is good.

In the examples I looked at:
- 1280x720 was the highest 16:9 image SD were returning, and it's using this for the fanart.
- 480x270 was the highest 16:9 image SD were returning with title info, and it's using this for the landscape. These are often much better images than the larger ones, which are typically cast ensembles, so I'd prefer to still use these in NextPVR where it's not needing them to be huge anyway.

if it could be an option (in config.xml) to override the landscape from choosing title based to force highest then that would be great since I do not use the web app so the only place I see the landscape art is in Kodi.

This updated NShared.dll should return kodi the fanart instead of the landscape image. This should give you the highest resolution 16:9 image from SD.

Currently we have both bigger (fanart) and smaller (landscape) available in NextPVR. I'm not sure if you have any say in Kodi, which it's using for different places though?

Yes I need to add the &prefer= to the two calls. This is legacy and goes back to when fanart was largely huge images with high bitate.

I really don't want to see the NextPVR default changed.

This did the trick...I understand Martin's point about EPG art being distinguished from the backdrop, personally I don't mind the fanart being used in EPG but can see why others would rather the title based landscape there.

How do you want NextPVR to behave for Kodi?

I will make the Kodi change for Nexus and Omega but it won't help Matrix users so as I have said I think the decision on what shows in the manual landscape selection should be at the users' discretion not NextPVR's.
