I dont get  the option to copy channel lineup on my Linux server the way I do in windows. On windows I get a prompt to copy the first set of channels I set up which makes things so much easier when you are working with more than one of the same kind of extra.

In Linux I have to add the second set manually and since the channel source is the same the list becomes distorted. I then have to merge the list with its duplicates by name. Is this by design, or I am doing something wrong?

I have never seen an option to copy an extra in Windows so I am not sure what is happening here.

Martin.
Let me clarify. The issue has to do with the attempt to copy the channel lineup from one extra to another. Both extras are of the same type in that the recording devices they point to are of the same kind. The prompt to copy channel lineup appears in windows and makes the process easier, but does not appear in Linux which makes he process cumbersome.

I tried with an extra here on Windows and couldn't duplicate it. How are you defining the extra?

I have a attached two pictures to more properly illustrate what i am trying to say. Notice how the numbers for the channels change by the time I am adding the same lineup to the second device? The original selection begins at 800. By the time I have to manually add the same channels to the second device in linux (I do not get the option to copy the channel lineup that I get in windows) the numbers have shifted.

When ask sub told me that extras don't necessarily give the same channel numbers, I wanted to see the two extra files that asked for the copy.

Your easiest fix is probably just using the Advanced Tools -> AutoMap by name.

I'm not entirely sure it does. I'm not sure I've ever tried it with an Exta. (and cant check right now).

I have never seen it and I have lots of extras and it never asks. In general copying different tuner types is not good anyway.
