Sorry, I don't think I will help further on the stuttering issues without that Jen P file for local testing. Dropbox Transfer and WeTransfer allow transferring large files without the local storage question if that is your main concern. There are many other sites too, many might be dodgy. If privacy is your concern, TANSTAAFL

NextImport https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/NextTool will let you import recordings and other videos from v4.

I also mentioned trying yauiclient https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64649 that has the same UI but a complete different playback mechanism that NextPVR.exe and nlite so probably closet to "other" players. I have a few questions on how you use a mouse for accurate skipping though, I've found UI client work best with arrow keys.

Thanks Martin, and Sub.   I understand.   I have done large file transfers using various means including the examples Martin suggested many times in the past.   Got a bunch of personal stuff going on starting this morning (Health issues)   Dealing with problems with my  "body" AND my " computer".   <ugh>   My communications here on the forum may be a little delayed over the next few days so please bare with me .

I WILL get the "Jen P" video  setup for both of you to download .    Thanks for all the additional info and tips you've been sending.  I'm working on implementing them .    I'll send you both info for getting the video as soon I get back from a bunch of medical tests and appointments later today.

I've saved and isolated the video and will do a deep scan for malware etc before setting up for you to download.  Should be back later today.

You can try a cut down video if it's easier, but confirm you still see the issue with the cut down file before supplying it. ie, no point in us looking at a file you don't have any issues with.

In NextPVR.exe you can right click and select 'open file' from the context menu to open a file that is not in your Recordings screen.

I just uploaded a the full file to a very old "drop box" account I have. Surprised it still works.  I sent a PM to Martin with what I HOPE is a working link so he or you can download it.  Suggested Martin forward the PM to you as it will explain a little about a problem I have here.

That problem with the navigation caused me to almost throw the PC in the garbage.   I had a file highlighted with it's field in focus that I was going to DELETE.  and when I hit return instead of the selected file being deleted some OTHER file was deleted which happened to be a new recording I made to TEST.   Spent a lot of time looking at that.  I think what is happening is as I move the focus up and down a list so each item is "highlighted" and then stop at one, what shows up in the meta data adjacent display is NOT the info for the file I've selected.  But rather some OTHER file in the list.   And if I am too quick and don't realize this and hit delete,  the selected file is NOT deleted and instead some other file in the list IS.  After some time I think I found what is happening. Although a file is selected and has the "focus" visually, in memory it has the info for the LAST FILE that I accessed and that is what actually has the focus.  AGAIN this is intermittent and sometimes works correctly. Sometimes when it not working I can NOT EVER get there correct file and have to forget about trying to actually delete that file.  Then an hour or a day later it works correctly    Here .. One (or two) pictures worth a 1K words ..

I'm not able to reproduce this, and haven't seen any other reports.

Are you using a mouse, or pressing up/down/enter, or a touch screen, or trackball, or remote?

Only have a mouse or KB and use both for navigation at various times.   I DO have the KB and mouse hooked up to a 4 way switch (KB, Mouse, HDMI video) and I switch that and two monitors between 3 computers.

And what were you using when you saw this problem? Was the mouse?

Normally with a mouse, to get that popup to appear, you'd double click on an item. It happens quite quickly, but the first click should move the focus to that item in the list, and the second one opens the popup. Is that what you're seeing?

Wait a minute .. I gotta switch over to the HTPC and refresh my memory.  I switch back and forth frm both keyboard and mouse use ... depending what I need  to do in any application.  BTW, I have some some problems with "double clicking" the mouse when needing to do that.  The mouse has a programmable center wheel that also can be used as a momentary push button.   It's programmed to do my "double clicking" for me.   So if I need to "double click" to engage something I push that button. The speed of the two clicks is very fast and is "programmable"  I think.  Been using it that way now for about 10 years.   let me visit the HTPC and try that scenario a few times.   It's one of those things that is now "automatic" and is done subconciously .

I wondered if there was something strange like this. I suspect it's not quite the same as a normal double click. I'll look into that, but lets put it aside for now, and just let me know if using the keyboard up/down/enter works correctly?

BTW, I now have that Jen Psaki file, and see something strange like you report with starting playback. I'll work out why and fix. It'll probably be tomorrow before I take a look at it though.
