Hello,

I have an issue with my 'channels.conf'. The dvb-c scan finds the channels at the frequencies, but the 'adapter0-DVB-C-channels.conf' shows nonsense frequency values like '4294967288', so tuning the channel isn't working.

I can make the '.conf' work with values from the log, but after a new scan the conf values are corrupt again.

As I didn't find another post with the same issue, Does anybody know this topic?

Can anybody tell if this is a bug or something to configure at my setup?

Ronny

example from the 'adapter0-DVB-C-channels.conf':

[ServusTV HD Deutschland]
        SERVICE_ID = 1537
        NETWORK_ID = 61697
        TRANSPORT_ID = 49159
        VIDEO_PID = 4920
        AUDIO_PID = 4921 4922 4924 4925
        PID_86 = 4926
        PID_05 = 91
        FREQUENCY = 4294967288
        MODULATION = QAM/256
        INVERSION = AUTO
        SYMBOL_RATE = 6899978
        INNER_FEC = NONE
        DELIVERY_SYSTEM = DVBC/ANNEX_A

Instead of using NextPVR's scan what do you get if you run in

dvbv5-scan /usr/share/filename you picked in Nextpvr

and look in dvb_channel.conf.

'sudo dvbv5-scan -T 10 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-c/de-Muenchen' shows the same result

So this is not a NextPVR issue, correct?

Yeah, does look like garbage. Given it's happening in both dvbv5-scan and NextPVR, it's likely an issue in libdvbv5 shared library. I don't remember having seen any reports of this in the past.

What Linux distribution are you using?

Unfortunately I'm not really sure what to suggest on that one.

We've had a few German cable users recently, and not seen any other reports of this.

where is a good place to report this issue, maybe at linuxtv.org?

Tomorrow I will go on with testing and searching

Maybe this can be fixed when you fix the existing conf file issues on a rescan. If he doesn't tick these channels then the modified channels in the conf file won't be over written.

@RonnyAdam maybe try a LibreElec boot USB on the same PC and see what happens on the scan.

Hello,

a bit old here, but not outdated: I can confirm in the environment:

  - Debian 11.7 amd64
  - Linux kernel 6.1.0-0.deb11.7-amd64
  - Digital Devices PCIE bridge driver 0.9.33
  - dvbtools/libdvb5 1.20.0-2

will create the same wrong entries as NextPVR does in my case.

@Martin: unless you can give me a direct link, I will search for a place to report this problem to
@Ronny: what card/driver did you use? Would helpful to check whether it is a driver problem
@Ronny: I was able to change the .conf file manually after scanning and this did solve the issue

Best Regards,
Carsten.

@Carsten can you try the Debian bookworm dvbtool libdvbv5 https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/libdvbv5-0 and see if that helps? You can extract it run without installing at with

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/yourpath dvbv5-scan ...

If not if you could provide a full mux capture of that frequency via an external link maybe we can feed it into a demodulator and do some debugging.

Code:
dvbv5-zap -c /pathto/adapter0-DVB-C-channels.conf Das\ Erste\ HD -P -t 60 -o fullmux.ts
