I'm trying to scan for some new/updated channels on my HDHR Flex 4k, and NPVR is never returning any channels from the scan no matter what tuner I try.

Here's my Docker compose:
PHP Code:
version: '3'
services:
  nextpvr:
    image: 'nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64:latest'
    container_name: nextpvr
    volumes
:
      - '/volume1/configs/nextpvr/pub:/root/.local'
      - '/volume1/dvr_media/NextPVR:/recordings'
      - '/volume1/configs/nextpvr/buffer:/buffer'
      - '/volume1/configs/nextpvr/config:/config'
    ports:
      - '8866:8866'
      - '16891:16891/udp'
    restart: unless-stopped
    security_opt
:
      - apparmor=unconfined

I've attached my log.  It shows some kind of failure saying the scanner isn't available.  BTW, I didn't choose any guide for mapping, but even when I do it still doesn't work.

I should mention that everything else is fine.  I can watch channels on any tuner, and I can see the status of a tuner when it's active.

I think we already discussed that you can't always scan. https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid578276 but I don't recall how you added them in the first place

I think there is a new feature in https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid584654 if you add your device manually with the environment

OTHER_HDHOMERUN=deviceId:address:tunerCount

But I am not sure how it works for the reccan

Thanks. I'll wait and look at re-adding the devices using that other method whenever the next upgrade comes out. At least I'm not going crazy and/or broke something.

The good news is that the rescan is just for new ATSC 3.0 channels that I can't hear anyway because nothing I have supports AC4 (and only two of the channels are DRM free).

For windows there is yauiclient https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64649 and for Android uidroid.

As you know I am working with test users using HDMI grabbers and HDPVRs to capture via Android the DRM'd and AC-4 audio too, in preparation for 2027 when ATSC 1 is supposed to disappear.

Yup, I remember. I'm pondering alternatives, but for now I'm just sticking with the ATSC 1.0 channels. I keep hoping I'll find a grabber that will pass through the original audio so I can get other than stereo sound. Kodi will do AC4 at some point (once the AC4 support gets into the main ffmpeg branch), which is why I'd really like to use a grabber that would maintain that. I figure I have several years to play before it becomes an actual issue.

Maintaining spatial AC-4 object may actually be a bad decision, if it even happens for broadcast (OTT aside). I expect the source will continue to be AC-3 5:1 and 2:0 that is encoded to an acoustically equivalent AC-4 stream. Player will be probably be expected to just decode it back to AC-3 or multichannel PCM. After all devices still don't accept AAC 5:1 over a long time use for dvb.

There are Android boxes that do AC-4 and maybe already path trough AC-3 so HDPVR's may still work for 5:1. Agreed until 2027 just use ATSC 1.

ffmpeg 6 baseline has AC-4 support now but it is only pass through and official encoders and decoders may not happen.
