I have been fight for a week before posting this - wintv - nova-t

Good day all, 

I don't want to be the person posting in a forum without doing my home work but I have got to the point where i need to assistance or I will just give up. 

I have a wintv nova-t card 

i have zero experience with usb tv devices and thought it would be handy to have my old pc be a tv server.

I have been unable to get the card to work with anything other than the bundled software, I have had some success with setup of this in nextpvr in as much as it will find the channels and save them - the tv guide has on occasion after tuning shown the correct info but is also known to show no show details. 

however when i try to load up live tv it looks as if it tries then fails. 

im guessing from others who have uploaded logs these are helpful to assist resolution - I have been through others logs but do not see my issue in these logs. 

i read that some of the log which looks troublesome is actually nothing to worry about, such as  :FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: MainConcept (HCW) MPEG-2 Video Encoder

to me this looks troublesome though. 


i have attached the log file for someone with some savvy about these things to show me my mistakes. 

any direction welcomed.

It sure doesn't look like the signal is good however there are driver issues too (the log item you noted is a non-issue)

Is this is the same PC with WinTV? Make sure you don't use WinTV and NextPVR together. Personally I would not bother configuring the EPG until you get tuning working consistantly.

So start over, delete all the channels from the tuner with the trash can on the scan page. Then rescan and don't update the EPG and then send the logs if Live TV doesn't lock signals.

This can be safely ignored. It's just saying analog tv tuner support is not available.

When i fire up wintv app it works without issue, but not in nextpvr - I will check my connection and rescan the channels as you suggest then report back my findings - thanks
