Hello Forum

I have installed the nextpvr server on my ubuntu 22.04 server and have all the HD setup for recording etc.

I have a LG WebOS tv and would like to run the Nextpvr guide on it if there is an app i can use.

FYI i do have emby server available and can user that but would prefer the Nextpvr app if possible.
I know i can use the web browser in LG but that is not really user friendly.

Has any one be able to install the Nextpvr client on LG TV?

Thanks

Dave

There is a LG client, which I never got around to officially releasing. Unfortunately it requires a few steps to manually install at this stage.

EDIT: I'll create a forum and a post for it.

This is that LG client.

I don't have a written-up set of steps for installing it. Here are a couple of tips mvallevand provided to help another user get it setup in the past:

I've personally tried it on a C8 and GX. I think the other user had a B7. (so LG TV's from the last 5 years or so)

If you get it installed on your TV, send me a PM to let me know, and I'll make a quick nextpvr.com change to enable it for you.

Sub provided a link to a test sub-forum, the link I suggested for installing "homebrew" on LG OS was here https://github.com/webosbrew/dev-manager-desktop. I know Kodi users are using it.

That webos installer program is Electron so you will need to ran it on a platform with a GUI.

Does it show up on your TV menu? If so, I'll PM you the couple of things we need to get it running for you.
