Hello!

Long time lurker first time poster. Hoping this is the right place to post this question, if not I apologize.

So what I'm looking for help with is the EPG on my current setup. I currently have my NEXTPVR setup and recording just fine.

The issue I have is my IPTV service has 8000+ channels and the EPG for Canadian channels isn't great.

I've bought a membership at schedules direct and the auto map feature in NEXTPVR works great on the US channels but not so much the Canadian channels no matter what list I use.

So my question is there a way I can create a custom EPG for next PVR aka just the Canadian channels my family uses?

Ideally I would like to create a EPG of just the Canadian channels and if needed Ill assign each channel manually to schedules direct.

I just don't want to go through 8000 channels , and would like to simplify the channel listing in NEXTPVR so my family can have it for use as simple as possible.

I apologize if there is an easy answer to this, brand new to IPTV and NEXTPVR

Honestly, you're never going to watch 8000 channels of crap. Having all those there is just going to make the experience shitty.

What most people do, is use the channel group filter when they're importing their channel, use the top tickbox unselected all the groups, then only selectively select the few groups they're really going to use (Canada Documentaries etc). Then it'll import a much more manageable set of channels.

I totally agree hence why I'm trying to slim it down.

I have previously tried unselecting everything and just selecting the boxes i want but i never seems to save correctly when i finish it seems like it always re-imports everything. Maybe im just not doing it right or not that smart......

I'd head to the Settings->Devices screen. Hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, click the delete button that appears on your IPTV device

The re-import the IPTV channels from scratch. The best screen to do the filtering on is the 'Import M3U' screen. Enter the m3u and xml urls, hit import. When the channel list appears (before you click 'save'), click the 'filter by channel group' dropdown. Untick 'select all', then just tick the groups you really want (like Canadian channel groups or whatever), then click 'save'.
