How to make comskip work in WIndows

I have NextPVR running on Windows. I would like to get Comskip set up. 

I installed Comskip to C:\comskip

I created a ParallelProcessing.bat file in C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts
containing:

However, I see no evidence of commercials being spotted, and pressing the play button when a commercial starts does not do anything.

What have I done wrong, please?

You may need to add the .exe extension (comskip.exe) to make it work in your .bat file.

The logs would give a good indication if it is running the exe correctly but you can also test the batch file by passing a ts file to it as the first parameter. Best practice would be to specify the comskip ini as a parameter or change you folder.

Sorry about the lack of logs - I hadn't found them when I reported the problem.

I checked the batch file, added a
cd c:/comskip
and put the %1 argument in double quotes.

I ran the batch file on its own, and got the message "The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem".

Googling this just gives me confusing information about Windows 10 upgrades (I am currently running Windows 8, mainly because I used to run Windows Media Centre, and wanted to be able to go back to it if I couldn't find something else as good.).

On the settings page, you hit the Log Files button and it’ll zip them up for you.

I posted the entire batch file at the top of the thread.

Clearly my problem with comskip is not NextPVR, but comskip itself not working. Will try to take it up with them.

As a curtesy to the developer post your logs as requested. Remember logs do help others experiencing similar issues.

As the problem is that comskip isn't working at all, I will take the issue to the comskip forums. In this case, it appears that adding logs, or more discussion, to this thread would be counter-productive.

I will report back if and when the comskip error is sorted.

I'm pleased to announce that I have upgraded the machine to Windows 10, and I can now run comskip.

It works, but does not detect the full length of the commercials. I am now following the guide at https://www.kaashoek.com/comskip/viewtop...?f=5&t=631 to tune it for UK Digital Terrestrial.
