Hello,
I recently installed NextPVR on my Debian bookworm server using by following the instructions on the wiki. It is mostly working, I'm able to schedule recordings and watch them using Kodi on my HTPC and Jellyfin when out and about on my phone/tablet/laptop.
However there are a couple of very annoying issues:
- NVENC is missing as a transcoder option in settings/transcoder. I have a Quadro P600 installed in the server with the official nvidia debian drivers installed. I can partially work around the issue by using Jellyfin (also on the server, which has no issue calling ffmpeg with nvenc) to stream recordings, however it would be great if the NVENC support could be fixed in NextPVR so I could switch on auto transcoding and save some disc space (the server CPU really isn't up to the task of transcoding without GPU assistance)
- NextPVR also doesn't seem to correctly capture the DVB subtitles on my machine. Directly playing the ts recordings in VLC shows a DVB track is present in the ts stream, but no subtitles appear when I try to switch them on. I have verified that this happens with programs that do correctly show subtitles if viewed live on a TV. What's weird is it did previously work. I have some older recordings from last year where the subtitles do show up correctly.
I'm otherwise enjoying using NextPVR, though if I can't resolve these issues I expect I'll have to try again with TVheadend :-(.
any tips or advice on how to resolve these issues welcome.
