I have successfully installed NextPVR on my Synology NAS using Docker.
It's working fine, I have /config and /recordings  folders that I can access.

I don't know how to access the actual NPVR program files; i.e. NextPVRservice.exe, NPVRTray.exe, NScriptHelper.exe, etc.

The application executable files are in the docker container, in the /app directory.

There is no NextPVRService.exe or NPVRTray.exe, since these are windows apps, and aren't need by the docker app. You access it via the web app or other clients. It does have NScriptHelper, which you can use from PostProcessing/ParallelProcessing etc if you need it.

I have been struggling for a while trying to figure out how to mount the /app directory so I can access it.

I've been trying to mount it in the same manner as the config and videos directory without any luck.
i.e.        - /volume/docker/npvr/app:/app/data

I've tried various combinations without success.

I've been using a docker-compose file to build the container.

What are you wanting to do exactly? ie, why do you need to access the apps in there?

Typically if you wanted to run anything in there, you'd run it inside the container, like from the PostProcessing.sh/ParallelProcessing.sh etc. These will already have access to the /app.

I just thought it might be something I need down the road when you issue a patch.


Sounds like it's something I don't need to have, so don't use up any more of your time on it.

Most people don't bother updating the files in the docker container, and just wait until the next release for a full update. If you were desperate to apply some patch though, Martin did make a post in the past showing how to copy files into the container.
