Hello,

The TV tower for KXAN (channel 36.1) in Austin Texas was severely damaged due to a recent ice storm and has been off the air for quite some time.  They have opened up transmissions on another tower on channel 54.5 which I assume is normally not a valid channel here.   (channels 54.1 through 54.4 are picked up just fine with NextPVR and I can tune other TVs to 54.5 and receive the channel)

When I do a scan (on ATSC-072020-repack-recommended) it doesn't pick up channel 54.5.  I've tried a few of the other scan designates and can't seem to find it either.

Is there a way to specifically add this channel to my lineup?

Thanks in advance for your help!

That file should be ok, and there shouldn't be a need to manually add anything it is on channel 23 according to RabbitEars https://www.rabbitears.info/market.php?r...44#station which is in the repack file. It could be low power or possibily you have too many splits.

Also did you remove channel 36 from your channel list. There is a potential issue if two KXAN-DT channels exist.

Failing all that you can make a file for that frequency if you'd like to save time (store in /usr/share/dvb/atsc

Code:
[CHANNEL]
        DELIVERY_SYSTEM = ATSC
        FREQUENCY = 515028615
        MODULATION = VSB/8
        INVERSION = AUTO

For testing you can also try a monitor of the full mux (you might need to stop the NextPVR service) if this fails

dvbv5-zap -P GRIT -c /var/opt/nextpvr/adapter0-ATSC-channels.conf

and see if you are getting errors

It sounds like you're dealing with some tricky TV tower issues. Have you tried manually adding the channel to your lineup? Sometimes, when a scan doesn't pick up a specific channel, you can add it manually using your TV or set-top box's settings. Check your device's manual or settings menu for an option to add channels manually, and enter the frequency or channel number for 54.5. This might help you tune in to KXAN's temporary transmission.
