Sadly yes it might.  I can't remember exactly but I think NextPVR buffers based on bytes received which doesn't factor in low bandwidth audio only broadcasts. Also audio is received in bursts from a shared mux which impacts the time

Are you using timeshIft?

sure 30 seconds for a channel change on the radios.... it's a bit too much in fact. Now I'll try to see if I can also make the EPG work on the radios.. Then I'll let you know

I'm sure I can reduce that to something more normal.

Unfortunately I don't know if anyone has really used radio from NextPVR in Kodi before, so we'd never really had any feedback from users.

I think I've fixed this for the next release. It looks like it only really affected radio coming from an HDHomeRun.

Marvi I am trying to play via Kodi using you sample full mux and timeshifting in Kodi is really slow. This video compares timeshifting off then on https://streamable.com/o2kd17

I have reached out to Team Kodi for suggestions.

Hi Martin. I told you. It takes about 30 seconds for the audio to play after you press Play and I can't disable TimeShift.. I use it often. I have another question to ask you but it's not about NextPVR it's about HDHomeRunner. Have you ever had or do you own one of these receivers?.. Because mine cuts off the names of the tuned stations that have a name longer than 15 characters, I would like to know if it's like this for everyone or mine is defective.
Thanks, Marco.

I never doubted you (or I wouldn't have set up the test) but the fact is this appears to be Kodi and not pvr.nextpvr or NextPVR so there is nothing sub or I can do about it without feedback from Team Kodi. The best I foresee for now is playing radio without timeshifting, if you can confirm that real time works for your with live data in a brief test. That still might hot work with the HDHR.

FYI, I don't use Kodi, but today I checked DVB radio station playback with a HDHomeRun in nextpvr.exe and VLC (to nextpvr server). I hear audio within 3-5 seconds, which is reasonable, so I don't think the issue is with NextPVR. As pointed about above, this is soundding like a Kodi issue

This seems to be normal. The HDHomeRun seems to only return the first 15 characters of station names. I suspect this is to do with it originally being North American device, where channels names are limited to this many characters. You can just rename the channel in NextPVR though, to add the missing characters.
