DVB-T2 Italy

Ciao a tutti, circa un mese fa in Italia è stato attivato il primo mux in codifica DVB T2 hevc, ho notato subito che il cambio canale è molto lento (6/7 secondi) rispetto alle altre tecnologie (DVB T, DVB S2). E' normale oppure si può fare qualcosa a livello software (NextPVR, aggiornamento codec..) o hardware (aggiornamento firmware HD HOMERUN).

Which client are you talking about? If you are talking about the browser client that would definitely be normal since it now it will have to be transcoded for web playback.

NO, I'm using Kodi 21.1, connected to a server running NextPVR

We can have a look if you sent your zipped NextPVR logs and a Kodi debug. My HEVC channels play as fast as h264.

The channels in DVB-T2 HEVC are: Rai 1 HD (provisional), Rai 2 HD (provisional), Rai 3 HD (provisional), Rai 4 HD, Rai Storia HD.

The right logs is: logs-20240927-1801 sorry

You forgot the Kodi debug log but at least one channel was from IPTV not digital

Test on one of those provisional channels and send both logs.

Also you don't have the Silicondust software installed

Your clock time on the Kodi PC differs by a few seconds so it is bit hard to compare, but from what I see Kodi send in the request for RAI 1

I have no idea what Kodi is doing here, he only thing I can think of is you might be able to play with the timeshift setting in Kodi, the buffer size will be smaller than h264 for 1080 recordings

Other than that, this would need to be analyzed by Kodi team, but in general when I ask users here to post on the Kodi forum about video playback there hasn't been any response.

First on your server, maybe try this to see how fast it tunes. You need to go to Settings->Access and tick on "Unauthenticated Access"

If it is the same as h264 and SD channels try your luck on the Kodi forum but don't post in the PVR or NextPVR forum, I didn't see any issue with NextPVR, and post debug a paste to your Kodi debug log. Then don't hold your breathe.
